HunAIFA meets the Machine Learning community
The Hungarian Machine Learning Days 2026, also known in Hungarian as Magyar Machine Learning Találkozó (ML Days 2026), was a 3-day networking and academic event held from 10 to 12 August 2026, organised by HUN-REN SZTAKI and hosted by the Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus.
The event’s primary mission was to bridge the gap between Hungarian Machine Learning researchers working abroad and those based in Hungary, creating a collaborative environment for sharing breakthroughs, tutorials, and career opportunities. For over four years, it has provided an annual meeting point for Hungarian AI experts working at the world’s largest and most successful companies and research centres to gather and share their latest insights and professional experiences. Approximately 200 participants attended the event, including experts from big tech and finance companies such as Google DeepMind and Google Research, Mastercard, and FutureHouse San Francisco, as well as researchers from universities and research institutes such as the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, or MPI Tübingen.
Péter Horváth, State Secretary for Science Policy and Innovation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, also gave a welcome address, as well as a scientific presentation at the event.
The event was co-organised by the Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus and the National Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (MILAB), a national initiative established in 2020 to bring together Hungarian AI research hubs and connect them to pan-European networks like ELLIS.
ML Days provided an interactive space where ongoing machine learning projects, architectures, and mathematical models were visually displayed and openly discussed. Here, HunAIFA - the Hungarian Artificial Intelligence Factory Antenna - had the opportunity to present itself and raise awareness of its activities and services in the ML community. The event also provided an opportunity to inform the Hungarian AI community about the European network of AI factories and antennas, which are being launched across Europe to provide researchers, innovators and companies access to advanced AI and high-performance computing resources, expertise and support. HunAIFA is the Central European Antenna of the Jupiter AI Factory, based in Juelich. HUN-REN SZTAKI colleagues on site ensured that all questions from interested parties were answered extensively.
