HunAIFA debuts at MIPRO 2026 together with EuroHPC, AI Factory and Antenna representatives
The 49th ICT and Electronics Convention (MIPRO 2026) was held from May 25 to May 29, 2026, in the coastal town of Opatija, Croatia. Running under the official motto “From ICT Foundations to an Intelligent Economy,” it served as a premier regional and international hub bridging academic tech research with industrial applications.
The rich five-day programme included 17 conference tracks, one keynote lecture, two forums, presentations of three projects, two seminars, five technical presentations and one company presentation, two panel discussions, two workshops, 11 invited lectures, and an exhibition of information and communication technologies, equipment, and services. Most programme activities were organised in a hybrid format and streamed through nine Zoom channels, ensuring broad accessibility.
HunAIFA was invited to participate in the Economic AI and HPC Forum. This track brought European initiatives together to showcase how High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures and AI Factories can accelerate the transition toward a highly competitive, digital European economy. It targeted both major enterprises and small-to-medium businesses (SMEs). Anders Dam Jensen, the Executive Director for the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, outlined how EuroHPC is transforming Europe’s economic competitiveness by deploying world‑class supercomputing, AI Factories, AI Gigafactories, and emerging quantum technologies. Tamás Máray from HUN-REN SZTAKI introduced the Hungarian AI Factory Antenna (HunAIFA) project as HunAIFA’s Technical Director, and the initiative was also represented at the Poster Session.

This regional event provided a grand opportunity for the neighbouring Factories and Antennas to network, share hands-on experiences and challenges and initiate further collaborations.
